# MC Techno-T – North East Rave & Makina Legend **MC Techno-T** is one of the veteran voices of the North East England rave scene, with a history stretching back to the 1990s and across several of the region's legendary clubs. Long before the New Monkey became synonymous with North East Makina, Techno-T was already becoming known on the microphone during the earlier Hardcore, Bouncy Techno and rave era. ## After Dark One of the clubs strongly associated with Techno-T is **After Dark**. DJ and producer Richy Ahmed has recalled going to After Dark as a teenager and specifically named: **MC Techno-T MC Stompin DJ Selector C** as some of the people crowds went to hear. That gives us an interesting first-hand memory of just how important the MCs had become to young North East ravers. ## The Colosseum Techno-T was also strongly associated with **The Colosseum**. Old recordings preserve his performances from the venue during the 1990s, including material dated **1996**. For people who remember that era, the combination of fast Hardcore/Bouncy Techno, DJs and MCs at the Colosseum helped lay the foundations for the distinctive North East MC culture that followed. ## Hangar 13 There's a substantial surviving archive of **Hangar 13** recordings featuring Techno-T. One recording features: **DJs Richard & Johnny Bass / DJ Paddy** with: **MC Techno-T MC G-Force MC Attack MC Jet** Another features: **DJ Bass Generator DJ Scott** with: **MC G-Force MC Techno-T MC Attack** Other surviving Hangar 13 recordings pair Techno-T with MC Jet and MC Massive. These recordings are brilliant historical evidence because they preserve several of the early North East MCs performing together. ## New Monkey Techno-T's story also crosses into the **New Monkey** era. An archived internet discussion from January 2002 directs listeners to an UltimateBuzz recording of: **DJ Matrix – MC Jet & MC Techno-T** recorded at the New Monkey's Boxing Day event. There's also a digitally preserved New Monkey release titled: **1999, Pt. 1 – Techno T, G Force & Stompin** That puts three major North East MC names together on surviving New Monkey material. ## Different Generations Techno-T is particularly interesting for the WGR archive because his career crosses different generations of North East rave. He was there during the earlier **Hardcore and Bouncy Techno era**. He appears throughout the **Colosseum and Hangar 13 period**. He can be found on **New Monkey recordings**. And he continued performing as Makina became increasingly identified with North East rave culture. ## Still Performing in 2026 More than 30 years after those early rave days, **MC Techno-T is still performing**. On **8 August 2026**, Rave To The Grave Outdoors in Sunderland included: **DJ Zippy & Trixy MC Stompin & MC Techno-T** playing an **After Dark 2 classics set**. He was also one of the headline MCs at **Echoes at The Riverbank Nightclub in Stockton-on-Tees on 7 August 2026**, alongside Banks & Tempo, MC Rocking and Nato North East. And he's listed for **Hysteria – England vs Scotland at Powerhouse Newcastle on 25 September 2026**. That's a remarkable connection between the original North East rave generation and today's scene. ## Part of North East Rave History When we look at the history of North East MCing, Techno-T belongs alongside names such as: **MC G-Force MC Stompin MC Attack MC Jet** as part of an earlier generation that helped establish the microphone as such a major part of the North East rave sound. Later generations of Makina MCs would take that culture in their own direction, but the foundations had already been laid in clubs such as **After Dark, The Colosseum and Hangar 13**. More than three decades later, Techno-T is still getting behind the microphone. That makes **MC Techno-T an important part of the WGR North East Rave Archive.** --- ## Do You Remember MC Techno-T? Did you see **Techno-T at After Dark, The Colosseum, Hangar 13 or New Monkey**? Do you have an old Techno-T tape or CD? Maybe you've got a forgotten flyer, photograph or recording?
