WGR’s commitment
Weedy Garage Radio wants its website, schedule, music discovery, forms, Members area, forum to be usable by as many people as possible. WGR’s goal is to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles where reasonably practical, but this statement is not a claim that every page or third-party feature fully conforms.
Measures used across WGR
- Navigation, buttons and forms designed for keyboard use.
- Visible focus styles and a skip-to-content link.
- Semantic headings, labels and screen-reader names for important controls.
- Responsive layouts that support mobile screens and browser zoom.
- High-contrast text and controls consistent with the WGR visual style.
- Text alternatives for meaningful WGR images where available.
- Reduced-motion support where animation is not essential.
Known limitations
External players, videos, GIFs, social content and provider sign-in screens are controlled by third parties and may not offer the same accessibility level as WGR pages. Live forum replies, changing Forum topics, editor tools, uploaded images and rapidly changing schedule or player information can also be more difficult for some assistive technologies. Older artist artwork may contain text that is not fully repeated in the image description.
WGR reviews these areas and aims to provide a direct link, text information or another reasonable alternative where possible. Provider-specific problems may also need to be reported to the provider.
Feedback and assistance
If you cannot access content or complete a task, use /contact. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, your browser or device and any assistive technology used. You do not need to disclose a disability. WGR will review the problem and try to provide the information or a practical alternative.
Ongoing review
WGR aims to check accessibility as templates and features change. Keyboard operation, focus visibility, contrast, labels, zoom and responsive layout are included in WGR’s release checks, including checks of member profiles, Forum navigation, posting controls and forum moderation tools. This statement is updated when significant accessibility work or known limitations change.
Reasonable adjustments
WGR aims to make reasonable adjustments for disabled visitors where the Equality Act 2010 applies. If a format, control or third-party feature prevents access, use /contact, describe the barrier and say what would help. WGR will review practical alternatives, including accessible text or a direct link where available.
Current feature limitations
The forum editor uses expandable colour, media, emoji and formatting-help controls. Help text can be scrolled within its dropdown. External embeds, user-uploaded images and event flyers may lack accessible descriptions, captions or transcripts. Event details should also be supplied as text; a flyer should not be the only way to learn the date or venue. No independent full WCAG conformance audit is claimed by this statement.
