Ownership
Artists, labels, photographers, designers, publishers and other rights holders keep their rights in music, artwork, names, marks and other material displayed or linked by WGR. WGR owns or licenses its original branding, text, layout and website materials.
How WGR uses music and media
WGR is an underground music hub and information service. It may publish information supplied by an artist, label or authorised representative and may link to or embed content made available through an official third-party platform. An embed does not transfer the underlying copyright to WGR, and the platform or uploader controls the hosted file and playback availability.
Permissions and corrections
Anyone submitting material must have the necessary authority. If you are an artist, label or representative and a credit, link, image or release detail is wrong, use /contact and include the exact WGR URL and the correction requested.
Reporting infringement
If you believe a WGR page infringes copyright, use /dmca-report. Identify the protected work, provide the exact WGR page URL, explain what should be removed or disabled, give reliable contact details and confirm that you are the owner or authorised to act. A clear report helps WGR locate and assess the material.
Review process
WGR may acknowledge a report, request missing information, temporarily restrict disputed material, contact the submitter or platform, correct a credit, remove a link or embed, or take no action where the report is unsupported or the use is lawful. WGR may retain the report and related evidence for dispute handling and legal compliance.
Third-party hosted content
Where the actual file is hosted by YouTube, Twitch, Mixcloud, SoundCloud, HearThis.at or another provider, you may also need to use that provider’s reporting process. Removing a WGR link does not remove the source file from the provider.
No false reports
Do not knowingly submit a false, misleading or unauthorised report. Copyright questions can be complex; obtain independent legal advice if you are unsure about ownership, permission, quotation, fair dealing or another exception.
UK copyright law
Copyright in the UK arises automatically in qualifying original work. WGR reviews permissions, complaints and lawful exceptions under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and other applicable law. Nothing on this page transfers an artist’s, label’s, photographer’s or other rights holder’s ownership to WGR.
Event flyers and imported images
A flyer, organiser logo, venue image or artist photograph can be protected even when it is publicly available on a ticket website or social account. A public URL or credit alone is not permission to copy or republish it. Material submitted to WGR or selected for an event topic must be authorised for that use or covered by an applicable legal exception. An image fallback is not evidence that permission exists. Rights holders can use /dmca-report or admin@weedygarageradio.xyz to identify a disputed image and request review.
Licensing and hosted audio
An artist submission or an official embed does not establish that every music, recording, performance or artwork right has been licensed for every use. Separate permissions may be required if WGR hosts, copies or streams material itself. WGR must assess the rights needed for the way content is actually used.
