# MC G-Force – One of the Original North East Rave MCs **MC G-Force** is one of the original names from the North East England rave scene, with a history stretching all the way back to the **early 1990s**. Long before Makina became the dominant sound at clubs such as the New Monkey, G-Force was already on the microphone at some of the region's pioneering rave nights. ## One of the Early North East MCs A Teesside Tunes interview looking at the history of North East MC culture describes **MC G-Force as one of the first known MCs in the North East**. G-Force himself says he started MCing at **16**, during a period when MCs were still relatively uncommon. His career would eventually see him perform around the UK and Europe alongside major rave DJs. ## Blue Monkey G-Force's history reaches back to Sunderland's **Blue Monkey**, one of the clubs associated with the beginning of the North East rave explosion. Old accounts of the venue remember the combination of: **DJ Excel & MC G-Force** That DJ/MC partnership became particularly well known during the early North East rave era. ## After Dark When talking about MC G-Force, **The After Dark in Sunderland** is especially important. A surviving recording from the club's **opening night on 17 October 1992** features: **DJ Excel & MC G-Force** There are also surviving recordings of G-Force performing at the After Dark with DJs including **Jason Bushby, Full Effect and Carl Cox**. One recording documents: **Carl Cox & MC G-Force – After Dark, Sunderland – 13 January 1994** That's a brilliant piece of surviving North East rave history. ## Joey Beltram G-Force's own profile says he's MC'd for some major names from rave history, including: **Joey Beltram Carl Cox DJ Nipper DJ Sy Stu Allan** That shows how far his career extended beyond simply being a local club MC. ## The Colosseum G-Force also became part of the rave history of **Teesside**. A surviving recording from **The Colosseum in Stockton on 2 December 1995** features: **DJ Selector C MC Techno T MC G-Force** That gives him a direct connection with another venue we're documenting in the WGR North East archive. ## New Monkey G-Force's career also crossed into the later New Monkey era. A surviving recording from **7 April 2000** features: **DJ Scott MC Stompin MC G-Force** at the New Monkey. This is interesting because it connects two different generations of North East rave MC culture – the early-90s scene and the Makina-dominated New Monkey period. ## Hangar 13 G-Force can also be found on surviving **Hangar 13** recordings. One Sistema 3 Hangar 13 recording features MCs: **Techno-T G-Force Attack Jet** alongside DJs Richard & Johnny Bass and DJ Paddy. So when we map G-Force's history, we're effectively travelling through several major periods and venues of North East rave culture. ## Still Going in 2026 More than three decades after those early Sunderland recordings, **MC G-Force is still appearing at rave events**. At **Initialize – The Valentine's Ball** at Middlesbrough Empire on 13 February 2026, G-Force appeared alongside **DJ Jason Bushby** representing the **Powerhouse**. The same event featured generations of North East MCs including: **Tazo Turbo D Tempo Stretch Impulse Ace Trance Rocking** That makes G-Force an extraordinary link between the beginnings of the North East rave scene and the scene that's still operating today. ## More Than 30 Years of North East Rave Very few names we're documenting for the WGR archive can trace their history as far back as MC G-Force. From **Blue Monkey and After Dark**, through **The Colosseum, Hangar 13 and New Monkey**, and on to modern events, his name appears across several generations of North East rave culture. Before North East Makina developed its later distinctive MC sound, people such as G-Force were already helping establish the idea of an MC becoming a major part of the rave experience. That's why **MC G-Force deserves an important place in the history of North East rave MCing**. --- ## Do You Remember MC G-Force? Have you still got any G-Force tapes, CDs, flyers, photographs or recordings?
