# 💿 NRG’s Record Box – Local Record Shop, Newcastle upon Tyne
Based on the address you gave me, **NRG’s Record Box** is on **Elswick Road in the Benwell/Scotswood area of Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 8DY**.
For DJs, vinyl collectors and old-school ravers around Newcastle and the wider North East, independent record shops like this are worth knowing about. **NRG’s Record Box** keeps the tradition of searching through physical records alive at a time when most music discovery happens through streaming services.
## 🎧 A Local Place for Vinyl Lovers
For generations of DJs, visiting the record shop was part of the culture. You didn't just click on a recommendation—you went through the boxes, checked the labels and sleeves and hopefully discovered something you hadn't heard before.
That's especially important with older **rave and underground dance music**, where countless releases originally appeared on vinyl.
Whether you're rebuilding an old DJ collection, searching for a record you remember from years ago or simply enjoy collecting vinyl, **NRG’s Record Box** gives North East music fans another local place to investigate.
## 💿 Supporting North East Record Shops
WGR wants to keep highlighting **independent record shops and sellers around Newcastle, Teesside and the wider North East**.
These businesses aren't only somewhere to buy records. They're part of the history of DJ and club culture. Every box of second-hand vinyl potentially contains another piece of that history.
