🤍 END OF AN ERA FOR MIDDLESBROUGH EMPIRE 🤍

Posted image — open original 🤍 END OF AN ERA FOR MIDDLESBROUGH EMPIRE 🤍 After nearly 35 years, Barry Faulkner Snr and Barry Faulkner Jnr have announced they are stepping away from running the legendary Middlesbrough Empire. From the iconic Sugar Shack years and world-famous DJs to generations of Teessiders filling the dancefloor every weekend, the Empire has played a massive part in Middlesbrough’s nightlife history. But thankfully, this isn’t the end of the Empire. New owners are taking over the venue with plans to reinvent the club and breathe new life into one of the town’s most recognisable nightlife venues. Before the Faulkners bow out, they’re inviting everyone back for one final weekend — 12th & 13th November. Old-school clubbers, staff, DJs, promoters and the new generation are all invited. 🤍 Nearly 35 years of memories. One final weekend. Who remembers their nights in the Empire? Middlesbrough Empire General Manager Jordan Jefferson Announces Departure Following Venue Sale Jordan's full statement reads: All good things have to come to an end… After 2 and a half years I am gutted to announce my time and the rest of the team has come to an end at The mighty Middlesbrough Empire. As most of you will be aware the venue has been sold and the new owners have decided to take the venue in their own direction meaning the current Empire squad will end their involvement on November 17 alongside its currently owners Barry Faulkner Jnr & Snr respectively. Taking over the venue was a massive highlight and challenge for me, we inherited a venue with problems but also one with an amazing history, the plan was to make it safe and put our stamp on, adding to the wealth of acts and events that have passed through those doors. Overall, I feel we achieved our goals, although stopped in our tracks just as things were getting going with the endless list of Arena size acts that you have seen recently, but what this does mean is we can go out on a high with arguably the best run of live events the venue has ever seen given the scale of artists currently confirmed and to have recently played. Not only that but the venue is a safe place to be, we leave behind a great relationship with Cleveland Police and Middlesbrough council, we leave with our heads held high and reputations in tact. None of this would have been possible without the support from the owners, the public and a special thanks to all of our past and present staff, management team, our booking partners, promoters and events teams and a special mention to Hinson security who have played a huge part in the venue retaining its license and keeping the public safe throughout our journey. Every single person who has been involved has played their part and should all be proud of the role they have played, no egos, no bickering, just people who turn up, know their roles and get on with it, thanks team ❤️ What about the list of acts though eh….Kasabian, The Courtneers, DMA’s, Max Dean, East End Dubs, Gaskin, Cascada, Paul Oakenfold, Jeremy Healy, Paul Woolford, Nothing But Thieves, Gyptian, Alisha, Blossoms, Myles Smith, Jessie Ware, Mel C, Maximo Park, Paul Taylor, Solardo, SOSA, Jamie T, Tall Paul, Allister Whitehead, Cam Stockman, Switch Disco, Tom Meighan, The Stickmen, Nathan Dawe, Martin Kemp, The Wildhearts, The Feeling, Goldie Lookin Chain, Ellia Jaya, Graeme Park, Alison Limerick, Grant Nelson, Ultrabeat, Flip n Fill, Jazzy, Shades of Rhythm, Lee Foss, Miguel Campbell, Tazo, Schak, Seb Fontain, Ferry Corsten…..and the list goes on (sorry for who I’ve missed). There will be an official statement from the club regarding its future and future shows, but for now it’s over and out and on the next chapter…. 🫡❤️ Posted image — open original
