DJ & MC Attack: Decks, Microphone and North East Rave
Discover DJ & MC Attack through North East rave archive recordings, from Colosseum sets with Techno T and Stompin to credits alongside DJ Scott.
For WGR’s latest MC spotlight, those recordings provide a route into the story. This is a look through the surviving live-set archive, rather than a claim to offer a complete personal biography.
ATTACK AT THE COLOSSEUM
A SoundCloud upload from DJ ROB ST / RAVING NINJA lists a Colosseum recording dated 7 October 1995, with DJ Full Effect and MCs Attack and Techno T. Its description identifies the venue as The Colosseum on Norton Road in Stockton-on-Tees.
That credit places Attack within the North East’s mid-1990s live rave record. It also gives listeners exploring Techno T’s work another shared set to investigate.

BEHIND THE DECKS
Attack’s DJ work is represented in a Colosseum upload on Mixcloud by dave-b. The title credits DJ Attack and DJ Morris, with MC Stompin and MC Techno T. It is labelled “No Date”, so we are leaving the performance date open rather than treating a listener’s recollection as a confirmed event record.
For anyone coming to Attack through his MC appearances, this is a useful change of perspective: a recording that explicitly gives him a DJ credit and connects him with two of the other voices featured in WGR’s MC series.

DJ AND MC CREDITS TOGETHER
The RAVING NINJA archive also carries an “Orbital Prophecy” recording whose title lists DJ Scott and DJ Attack, plus MC Techno T, MC Attack, MC Massive and MC Jet. Both Attack credits appear in the same listing, making it another starting point for exploring the name across the decks and microphone.

KEEP EXPLORING THE NORTH EAST ARCHIVE
The appeal of these recordings is the chance to explore complete sessions and the combinations of performers named on them. Start with an MC-credit set, then try a DJ-credit recording. Listen for the relationship between selection, microphone work and the space each performer leaves for the other.
